llevaba mucho tiempo buscando la versión que grabaron en los 80 THE MIRACLE WORKERS del tema "looking at you" de MC5 y por fin la encontrado. Lo mejor es que viene junto con la versión del tema de los Stooges, "dirt". Yo tenía este single. Dos pedazos de versiones que duran 7 minutos cada uno

Hay personas a las que te gusta agradar, vamos que te piden algo y harías lo que fuera. El caso, es que me había pedido que le buscara un vídeo de los miracle wokers, porque nunca los había visto en directo.

Teniendo en cuenta que la banda no tuvo mucho éxito comercial, pues la cosa estaba difícil. Llevo semanas dedicando un rato al día a dicha búsqueda y lo único que había encontrado era un vídeo hecho por un fan con fotos de portadas de discos y el tema Love has no time, que ya incluí en este blog.

Lo que no me dejó nada satisfecho, porque no aparecían ellos. Pero en youtube no había nada más.

Luego busque en las discográficas con las que editaron sus discos, en google, en myspace...... sin ningún éxito.

De hecho la página de myspace no esta hecha por ellos, vamos el que la ha abierto es otro fan del grupo. Uno de los miembros de la banda tiene una página también en myspace a título personal y ni siquiera pone canciones ni nada. Quizás es que no esta para mucho.

Finalmente en youtube buscando vídeos de los cynics, encontré uno que pertenecía a un DVD recopilatorio de bandas de garage en el revival de principios de los 80 que se llama Knights of fuzz. Busque el mencionado DVD, y en el track list aparecía un vídeo de los Miracle Workers. Existía al menos un vídeo o grabación de los 80 de los miracle workers.... solo me quedaba encontrarlo. Probé con la empresa que lo distribuía, en su página web, en su sitio en myspace, en youtube y nada...... Era frustrante pero sabía que siendo tantos pollos en el mundo, seguro que había alguno que tenía el DVD y había subido a la red el vídeo de los Miracle Workers.

Y hoy por fin lo encontrado. Esta en Daylymotion y lo ha subido una tía española que tiene una cuenta allí y ha subido solo un vídeo. Joder, como mola. Que puta casualidad. La verdad es que he intentado ponerla un comentario o mandarla un mail, en primer lugar dándola las gracias y en segundo lugar porque me encantaría conocerla o hablar con ella o lo que sea. Debe ser una tía muy interesante, se abre una cuenta en daylymotion hace 8 meses y solo sube un vídeo que es precisamente la única grabación en vídeo que existe (según la información que tengo) de este gran grupo de garage (para mi los mejores sin lugar a duda). Además nadie la ha hecho ningún comentario, casi no tiene visitas (30) y ella no entra muy a menudo....

Pero no me han dejado tengo que abrirme una cuenta o algo así me imagino... Lo haré porque se lo merece.

Bueno, tío aquí los tienes.....y casi estoy yo más contento que lo estarás tú cuando veas este video y no es porque a mi también me flipen.... es que me tenía puteado el no poder conseguirte lo que me pediste....por algo concreto que me dices.... Aqui lo tienes

While the Pacific Northwest may now be quite renowned as a hotbed of rock & roll activity, Portland, OR's the Miracle Workers were wowing the kids with a gigantic, no-holds-barred rock sound that borrowed more from the Sonics and the Wailers than from Hendrix. After a couple of EPs in this vein, Greg Shaw of Bomp! Records recorded them for a less-barbaric but equally aggressive and very fast record, Inside Out, which reigns as the Miracle Workers' most fully realized effort. After numerous members departed, the band shifted its sound yet again, accommodating a penchant for Stooges/MC5-style blitzkrieg. The Miracle Workers were formed in January 1982 by Gerry Mohr, (Vocals), and Joel Barnett, (bass guitar). The original guitarist and drummer left the band early on. They were friends of Gerry's, but weren't interested in garage rock. Matt Rogers, a friend of Joel's, became the guitarist. Ron Sheridan became the drummer, and would later leave to pursue a business career.

The band stabilized in 1984, with the addition of Dan Demiankow, (Guitar, organ), and Gene Trautmann, (Drums). The Miracle Workers have been playing gigs in and around Portland, Oregon for four years.
Since they first began playing to small crowds at The Metropolis in 1982 to playing for wall to wall people at some of the other hot clubs in town - they have gathered a lot of fans and their own following. They have earned respect with their groovy psychedelic-inspired yet original style of music, mega-talent and amazing live shows. Inside Out : Unbelievable! Brilliant! This record epitomized the 80s Garage sound...Fuzz, Farfisa, snarling vocals...they never were better!

In the Spring of 1986, the band decided to move to Los Angeles. Joel Barnett left the band at that time. Robert Butler, from The Untold Fables, became the bass player and Dan Demiankow quit over musical differences. Due to problems with drug use by some members of the band, they split up in 1992. Gene Trautmann quit the band ca. 1990 and was replaced on drums by Aaron Sperske. Aaron Played on the "Roll Out the Red Carpet" Album.

The Miracle Workers split in the early 1990's, but before calling it quits they returned to Portland and recorded a new CD, "Anatomy of a Creep", for their label, Triple X. Gene Trautmann resumed drumming duties. This record was apparently issued, but in small quantities, as it is difficult to find. Members of the group resurfaced in Portland, OR in the mid-1980s and in Switzerland in the late 1990s, in several bands playing blues, psychobilly, and garage rock, such as The Bo Diddley Headhunters; Cavemannish Boys; The Wicked Ones ; The Get Lost and The Queens of the Stone Age. In LA the band incorporated more hard rock and alternative rock influences paralleling the grunge scene in Seattle. The Miracle Workers were amongst the founding bands of the stoner rock movement.... but this is another history..
