The brainchild of producers Jesse Lauter (Elvis Perkins, The Low Anthem) and Sean O'Brien (Dawes, PAPA), the mission of Bob Dylan In The 80s: Volume One is to shed new light on a large cache of Bob Dylan songs that have long gone ignored, covering the period starting with 1980's Saved and ending with 1990's Under The Red Sky (including unreleased material -- the "80s Basement Tapes" -- and The Traveling Wilburys). Album contributors include: Built To Spill, Aaron Freeman of Ween & Slash, Glen Hansard, Reggie Watts, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Lucius, Langhorne Slim, Craig Finn Of The Hold Steady, Deer Tick, Dawn Landes, Blitzen Trapper, Carl Broemel Of My Morning Jacket, Elvis Perkins and more.

la verdad es que lo he pasado como un enano mientras preparaba este post, y es que me produce emoción profunda ver y escuchar actuaciones clásicas de bob dylan. con lo que estoy seguro que este será el primero de una serie dedicado a actuaciones míticas ....

He encontrado dos versiones de temas de Dylan realmente interesantes. La primera de ellas, se trata del tema " I ain´t going nowhere" interpretada por los Dandy Warhols. Y la segunda de ellas es "Isis" interpretada por White Stripes.

Hace breves fechas ha fallecido el country-man de austin (texas, EEUU) a los 62 aqños de un cancer de hígado. Este músico fantástico desarrollo su carrera musical con más éxito e Europa que en en EEUU, girando en multiples ocasiones en Berlin, Paris, Amstedam y Londres. Tuvo serios problemas con las drogas y también con la justicias y fue detenido por tenecia y tráfico de LSD, Marihuana y Cocaina en diferentes momentos de su intensa y caótica vida. En cualquier cao, es un genio.

La verdad es que sería bastante cretino si en un día como hoy no le dedico una canción a la persona de la que stoy enamorado. No hay canción de amor m´ñás bonita que la que escribió Dylan en el 74 dedicandosela a su mujer por aquel entonces: Sara.

A principios de los 90 cuando Dean Wareham dejó Galaxie 500, y antes dee formar Luna., durante un tieempo Dean estuvo tocando y girando con Mercury Rev. En agosto pasado se volvieron a juntar para tocar temas de Galaxie 500. Y casualmente he encontrado unos videos de tan emocionante cita.

Micah P Hinson, es de esos personajes que hacen una música muy especial.

A mi me fascina.

En 2009 publicó un album doble de versiones, que presentó de gira en Madrid en noviembre del año pasado. El disco es realmente bueno. Cada CD es una parte diferenciada. Unas más marchosas y otras más tranquilas, pero manteniendo un nivel muy alto.

Fue una de esas cosas que se me pasaron subir al blog. Pero bueno, ahora estaba escuchando algún tema suyo y me ha parecido una buena idea subirlo.
