Happy Mondays - Kinky Afro
pills´n´thrills and bellyaches (1990) entro directamente al número 1 de las listas brtánicas, con una cubierta que era un collage psicodélico de envoltorios de caramelos con un sonido que en una perfecta fusión de sucio funk industrial con sutiles ritmos de baile.
La conversación de "kinky afro" entre un padre autoindulgentemente huido y su desdeñoso hijo llevo a Tony Wilson (el de 24 hours party people") a decir que "era la mejor refexion sobre la paternidad desde prayer for my daughter de WB Yeats"

En 1984 los Beastie Boys abandonaron sus origenes punkies para convertirse en unos de los pioneros mundiales del rap, auqnue fueron criticados por la comunidad (negra) del hip-hop por pirateria cultural. y la critica les acuso de ser suminstradores de música para fiestas (como si eso fuera despectivo, putos pringados)
ES UNA MÚSICA MUY DIVERTIDA incluso para los no amantes de la cultura hip-hop.

La verdad es que me encantan las versiones y cuanto más diferentes a la original más me fascinan.
Esta versión del tema changes de Black Sabbath interpretada por THE CARDIGANS es genial

El disco screamadelica (1991) marcó un antes y un después en la mezcla de la música indie y las pistas de baile.
El tema, Loaded incluye samples de Peter Fonda pertenecientes a la pelicula los angeles del infierno y entre mezclas, samples y adornos nos invita a un viaje muy psicodélico.
Scissor Sisters - Comfortably Numb (Pink Floyd cover)
El grupo Scissors sisters tomaron el nombre de la expresión que se utiliza en argot americano para referirse a las lesbianas, lo que unido a la aficción a la licra de Jake shears y al sonido electroclash que desprenden sus canciones les convirtieron en grupo de culto en New York, su ciudad natal.
Esta versión del tema confortably Numb de pink Floyd apareció en su disco homónimo de 2004 es extraña y rara se mire por donde se miré, pero también genial y divertida....
