Bueno, dentro de lo que cabe, he encontrado una buena noticia musical. Al menos para mi, 3en breve se publicará el nuevo disco de Bowerbirds (el tercero), que llevará por nombre "The clearing" y que saldrá a la venta a principios de 2012. Tengo, además la esperanza que vendrán de gira por nuestro país con dicho disco, en Otoño del 2012, ya que en primavera y verano estarán de gira por EEUU (esto último si está confirmado).

Tras mi anterior post, seguí buceando en la red para ver si me enteraba de lo que había sido den Jason Molina en los dos últimos años, durante los cuales no había tenido noticias suyas, cuando es alguien bastante prolífico y que suele hacer giras con mucha regularidad. En esta búsqueda me enteré de que ha estado entrando y saliendo de clínicas de rehabilitación durante los dos últimos años y que parcece que por fin se encuentra algo mejor y espera poder superar este trance en el año 2012. La verdad es que me sentí mal cuando lo leí. Me parece un genio y he disfrutado muchísimo en las ocasiones que he tenido de verle en directo, y siempre que escucho su música.

En fin, por si fuera poco, la familia ha pedido ayuda económica a sus fans porque al carecer de seguro médico se le han ido acumulando facturas médicas.

Mañana y pasado se celebra en madrid el mini festival de música psicodélica: PSYCH OUT FEST. Tendrá lugar en la sala BOITE, en la calle Tetúan 27, cerca de las plaza del Carmén.

Se trata de una festi muy barato: el abono de dos días cuesta 20 euros y la entrada de día entre 12 y 15.

El jueves 27 tocan: la banda de psicodelia japonesa liderada por el guitarrista Kawabata Makote ACID MOTHER TEMPLE & THE MELTING PARAISO U.F.O. junto con el grupo inglés MUGSTAR

Y el viernes 28 será el turno de los norteamericanos BARDO PONS y también de los eslovenos N´Toko y d elos japoneses Praha Depart

El mítico grupo SONIC YOUTH, con el que por cierto inicié este blog han decidido separarse después de casi 30 años de carrera. El hecho de que Thurston Moore y Kim Gordon, guitarra, bajo y voz de la banda, y únicos miembros fundadores en activo junto a Lee Ranaldo, ya no son pareja sentimental ha sido determinante en el fin del grupo.

Gracias a mi hermano tuve la oportunidad de conocer y presenciar en directo una entrevista con Eef Barzelay de CLEM SNIDE. Tras la misma estuve presente mientras le grabaron dos temas interpretados en acústico en la misma sala Siroco.

Ya que en el anterior post he tirado de clásicos sesenteros, me gustaría incluir un grupo mítico de los 60´s para los amantes del psychobilly horror: SCREAMING LORD SUTCH and the Savages.

Desde mi punto de vista Screaming Lord Sutch compusieron dos clásicos del genero, abundantemente versionados y pinchados en fiestas de Halloween a lo largo y ancho del planeta. Aquí los tenéis:

En fin un drama. Antes de eso tuvo una carrera política más que interesante: presentándose a más de 40 elecciones consiguiendo cada vez más votos aunque escasa repercusión. También protagonizó anuncios de Heineken (unos visionarios)

Este post esta dedicado a una joya de la pre-psycodelia, escrita y grabada en 1965/66, por roky erickson, on su grupo THE SPADES. Un poco antes de fundar 13th floor elevators

roky erickson tuvo serios problemas mentales y le fue diagnosticado una esquizofrenia que se vio complicada por su uso y abuso de drogas psicodélicas. Estuvo internado durante años en un hospital psiquiátrico, mendigo en la calle, robó, vivió de los 200 USD que le daba la SS, pensó que había sido abducido por aliens, y los últimos años se dedico a escribir canciones sobre extraterrestres....

El tema "we sell soul" se publico en noviembre del 65 como cara B del single "you are gonna miss me"

Ambos son dos temazos impresionantes.....

Ha fallecido Mikey Welsh ex-bajista del grupo WEEZER. Fue encontrado muerto en una habitación de Hotel de Chicago. Las causas de la muerte son desconocidas. Fue el sustituto de Matt Sharp en Weezer cuando este abandono la banda para formar THE RENTALS.

Bueno, últimamente estoy un poco obsesionado con el tema de la bici. La uso a diario y leo todo lo que encuentro sobre el tema, busco accesorios y demás chorradas. En esa búsqueda he encontrado una web-blog que se llama: http://www.copenhagencyclechic.com/

Donde se centran más en tener cierto estilo mientras se monta más que en ir mangado sobre ella.

En fin, para el que le guste la bici o la use se la recomiendo.
